Chancey C. Ferguson - Virginia Infantry 1861-65

Mr. Ferguson enlisted in the Confederate Army on June 19, 1861. He was assigned to 2nd Company B, 46th Regiment, Wise Brigade of the Virginia Infantry as a Private.

During his service to the VA Infantry, he was captured on Roanoke Island, NC on Feb 18, 1862 and was paroled in Elizabeth City, NC on Feb 21, 1862.

Mr. Ferguson participated in the "Stacking of Arms" ceremony during the surrender proceedings in Appomattox Court House in April of 1865 and was pardoned by Gen. Grant in November of 1865.
